Matt Wignall is responsible for some of the most iconic photos of Mike Knott during his photo shoots for the album Strip Cycle. Shooting (“recklessly” as he describes it) on infrared film, Matt captured these grainy high-contrast photos to complement the spontaneous acoustic sound of the record.
When we compiled the revised artwork for the Strip Cycle reissue, we asked Matt Wignall to locate some of the original negatives, and we ended up with an entire roll’s worth of shots, freshly scanned from the original negatives. As a way of preserving these images, we are presenting them all here in high-resolution, many for the first time ever.
Thanks to Matt Wignall for allowing us to present these photos (use these links to find more of his photography and listen to his recent music).
