All I Ever Wanted: Aunt Bettys on vinyl

In 1996, Michael Knott was supposed to become a rock star. After years leading underground acts like Lifesavers and L.S. Underground, major labels fought over the Aunt Bettys in a bidding war. Elektra won, offering total creative control and real money.

Their self-titled debut delivered furious guitars, snarling vocals, and supposedly true stories from Orange County dive bars. It channeled the Stones' swagger, Bowie's glam edge, and Jane's Addiction's intensity. But promotion never materialized. The band dissolved within months, and most of the country never heard them.

Over the years, the album became a cult favorite, proof that sometimes the best records are the ones nobody wanted to sell.

Lost in Ohio is reissuing Aunt Bettys on vinyl for the first time. The package features brand-new oil paintings by Stephen Cefalo, fresh remastering by Christopher Colbert, liner notes by the band's Elektra A&R rep Lara Noel Hill, and never-before-seen photos. Available on vinyl, CD, and cassette, shipping in February.
