Riverside emerged from Philadelphia in the early ‘90s with a shimmering, melancholic sound that stood apart from the grunge-dominated era. Led by brothers Keith and Glenn Kochanowicz, the band crafted lush, jangling guitar-driven pop that echoed their love for The Smiths, The Railway Children, and The Ocean Blue.

Their 1992 debut One, produced by former Ocean Blue member Steve Lau, became a cult favorite, layering ethereal melodies and dreamy textures with an undeniable warmth. Songs like “Waterfall” and “Cinnamon Eyes” floated with a delicate, hypnotic beauty—an antidote to the angst of their time. While commercial success eluded them, One found a dedicated audience, its timeless sound cherished by those who discovered it.

After lineup changes and years of intermittent activity, Riverside returned with renewed passion, honoring their past while continuing to create music that feels both nostalgic and enduringly fresh.
