Riverside’s Dreamy Debut One on Vinyl

Lost in Ohio is proud to partner with Riverside to reissue their beloved debut album One on vinyl for the first time ever! Following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, we’re now offering remaining copies for pre-order, exclusively through our online shop. Orders will ship by October — don’t miss your chance to own this long-overdue dream pop classic on wax.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Riverside gained a devoted following in the early ’90s for their shimmering, melancholic rock—layered with jangling guitars, rich textures, and unmistakably emotional songwriting. Their debut album One made waves with critics and fans alike, drawing comparisons to Echo & the Bunnymen, The Smiths, and kindred spirits The Ocean Blue (whose keyboardist Steve Lau produced the album).

Songs like “Cinnamon Eyes” and “Waterfall” became staples of college radio and MTV, and helped define a moment in time for moody, melodic alternative music.

Though the band once called Sire Records home, and One was a critical success, it has never been released on vinyl—until now.

Bringing One to vinyl required navigating complex licensing with Warner Bros. and overcoming rising production costs. To make it possible, we launched a Kickstarter with the support of Riverside and their fans—and the response was incredible. Thanks to you, we’re now able to deliver this landmark release in the format it always deserved.

This deluxe vinyl reissue includes:

  • Limited-edition vinyl in two color variants
  • Audio remastered by James Aparicio (formerly of Mute Records) in London, directly from the original master tapes
  • Artwork rebuilt from the ground up, leveraging scans of the original negatives and prints from photographer Kristine Larsen (and including alternate photos from the band shoots)
  • Insightful liners from Chris Newkirk, singer of fellow Philadelphia dream pop group The Julies
  • Exclusive t-shirts, posters and CDs (for our Kickstarter backers)

With Riverside playing recent sold-out shows alongside The Ocean Blue and fan interest growing fast, there’s never been a better time to rediscover One—an album that still feels as heartfelt and relevant today as it did when it first appeared.
